Morning Motivation: 5 Things To Do Before You Get Out Of Bed


Good morning and happy holidays! It’s been a whirlwind of a time at our household of late. With so many creative directions taken and really focusing on creating a home environment; not so much within my house but exploring our community through daily walks with my daughter; I have been able to truly focus on not just a thriving little, but being a thriving mama. I was finding myself overwhelmed with feeling like I had to post 324 vlogs a week on my youtube channel (here), posting daily on instagram (here) and life (playgroups, social experiences, family, cooking, living), it was too much. And that is okay.

I love my slice of the web, through various blogs and youtube, it’s been my creative space and outlet for years. TRULY living in the moment, projects with my little girl, exploring our neighborhood, going to the zoo, sewing and creating hands on has helped me to find balance without screen time (phones, computers, television and the like), that I myself was lacking. It is so incredibly easy to get sucked into the aforementioned without noticing that though you may indeed ‘live in the moment’ you are checking e-mails, and phones, during every free moment. Free moment’s are rare.

I know it’s hard to find time to yourself (I have a 2-year-old), trust me, and I know it can be overwhelming to feel that there just aren’t enough hours in the day.

Have you seen this quote? At first I thought it was motivating, and then to be frank, it pissed me off. Ha! I have 24 hours, you have 24 hours, what we don’t have are assistants, assistants for our assistants, chefs, nannies, maids, accountants, private tutors, drivers, trainers, etc. As a mom, I’m all of the above, and that is okay.  It is such a huge blessing, I wouldn’t change a thing, but because we all have things to accomplish each and every day, we MUST make time for ourselves. I don’t always have this time but I do have 2-3 minutes in bed each morning and wanted to share with you 5 steps you can take starting now, to get your day off to a great start.

Channel your inner Beyonce, take your 24 hours and make the most of it, it’s not quite set up the same, but that doesn’t mean your mentality can’t be just as “Flawless.” 🙂
